After becoming an Endangered Bird in 1967 due to DDT, a lot of effort to save our national symbol allowed the bald eagle to re-populate and was removed from the endangered list 40 years later in 2007.
A couple of fun facts about bald eagles. #1 They are one of a very few birds that can fly as high as 10,000 feet! #2 Their eyesight is 8x better than ours!
