Our Feathered Friends
Our Feathered Friends is an interesting assortment of birds. We include two "water" birds, two "land" birds and the much loved hummingbird.
A Duck and a Pelican are the two "water" birds. The duck has a general duck appearance. It is 6-1/2 inches long and sits in the bottom left of the photo. Could be a Mallard or something more exotic. The Pelican is 6-1/2 inches tall. We have both the brown and white pelican in the US. Elsewhere on this site, you will find an exclusive photo we have of an osprey stealing dinner from a pelican!
A Quail and a Roadrunner are our two "land" birds. The quail is 7" tall and has a top notch on its head. The California Quail has a distinctive call "Chi-ca-go" I would take 8 year old cub scouts on a walk through a park so they could get a badge. I asked them to tell me when they heard CHI-CA-GO. They would go silent. Then, as they heard the call from across the way...they got so excited! I hear it! I hear it! I told them when they were 80 they'd probably remember that call. The roadrunner is the largest of the 5 birds at 12 inches.
The 5th bird is the lovable Hummingbird. It is 7 inches. Various species of Hummers have various colors. A pretty bird that flies in directions other birds cannot.
All five of these birds are made from Ironwood. They are sold as group with no substitutions. A group that will be much discussed. And, all bird lovers will enjoy,
