The cheetah is a large cat and the fastest land animal. When I was on a safari in Kenya, our car chased a cheetah as it ran. The cheetah won....and was soon out of sight in the distance. We were moving fast, but the Cheetah won easily.
It is very easy to know a cheetah from other large cats. It is the ONLY one with the black tear-like streak on its face. At the San Diego Zoo it's fun to see a trainer walk their cheetah outside. The Cheetah and a German Shephard are paired when both animals are quite young. They stay together and become best friends. It's fun to see the two animals walking around with each other.
