Beautiful photo of a male lion racing across the grassland. He  probably weighs around 500 lbs and is running at a speed of 50 mph. Quite a sight to see! A magnificent animal. Until 10,000 years ago the lion was the most common animal on Earth. That's certainly not true today. Lions live in groups that are called prides.
