Our Talking Blue Jays Photo shows two jays talking.

We cannot tell gender. The female Blue Jay is normally slightly smaller. If you spend much time with Blue Jays you will soon be able to identify each bird. No two jays are the same. Colors of feathers are different between two birds...but the final result looks so similar that most people think all jays look the same. Check out the white feathers between these two jays. You might decide to name your local birds as you check their individual markings.

The brillant red male Cardinal is one of our prettiest birds. The drab female Cardinal is definitely a contrast. The two appear to be communicating. Bob, our photographer, has framed this photo to tell a story. He creates a story with each of his photos. That's why he has received so many awards for his wildlife photos. Cardinals symbolize love, loyalty and are embraced as spiritual messengers from the spirit world. The Catholic Church even has cardinals who dress in red! Interesting the average speed that a cardinal flies is 25 mph.

Chickadee & Squirrel

The Founding Fathers chose the bald eagle as the emblem of the nation in 1782. Bald Eagle can be fierce and is fairly independent. It aptly symbolizes the strength and freedom of United States of America.

This bald eagle is very focused on its prey with its talons extended and eyes ablaze. Bob, the photographer is a recognized international wildlife photographer. He doesn't just snap a picture, he constructs a story within the photo. That's what makes each of our exclusive photos so wonderful. Each is telling a different story. After becoming an Endangered Bird in 1967 due to DDT, a lot of effort to save our national symbol allowed the bald eagle to re-populate and was removed from the endangered list 40 years later in 2007.

A couple of fun facts about bald eagles. #1 They are one of a very few birds that can fly as high as 10,000 feet! #2 Their eyesight is 8x better than ours!

An Upside Down Bald Eagle!!!

As a lifelong birder I have seen many bald eagles....however, only ONCE have I seen an eagle turn over and fly upside down! It's an amazing sight. Our photographer was lucky to also see a bald eagle turn over while flying and this photo is the result. Imagine the eagle with a possible wingspan of 6 FEET accomplishing this activity in air. 

We are showing this photo on the Inspirational page too. When have you thought to yourself, I can't do that. Let this bald eagle be your inspiration. Perhaps, it CAN be done!

Eagles do have "eagle eyes." They can see four to five times better than humans. This vision allows them to see small prey like rabbits as far as two miles away.

Glorious Great Egret....stunning photo

Both the male and female egrets grow these awesome plumes. In fact, in 1886 each plume sold for $32/oz. Yes, 130 years ago! Back then that was twice the price of 2 oz of gold! In defense of the ladies who wore the plumes in their hats - the women WERE beautiful...but the poor bird. It came close to disappearing. Photo available in 2 sizes. 20 x 16" or 30 x 20".
