Did you know a female alligator seldom exceeds 10 feet, while a male can be much longer and weigh up to 1,000 lbs. Nearly all alligators become sexually mature by the time they reach 7 feet. A female may require 10-15 years and a male 8-12 years to reach these lengths.

This bald eagle is very focused on its prey with its talons extended and eyes ablaze. Bob, the photographer is a recognized international wildlife photographer. He doesn't just snap a picture, he constructs a story within the photo. That's what makes each of our exclusive photos so wonderful. Each is telling a different story. After becoming an Endangered Bird in 1967 due to DDT, a lot of effort to save our national symbol allowed the bald eagle to re-populate and was removed from the endangered list 40 years later in 2007.

A couple of fun facts about bald eagles. #1 They are one of a very few birds that can fly as high as 10,000 feet! #2 Their eyesight is 8x better than ours!

A Glorious Sunset

When you're lucky enough to see a sunset as colorful as this one...you want to take a photo...to remember forever. That's exactly what our photographer did and this is the result...a memory one keeps forever.

The bird in the foreground is a Great Egret. Two sizes of this large photo: 16 x 20" or 20 x 30".

Why red? At sunset, when the sunlight travels a long path through the atmosphere to reach our eyes, the blue light has been mostly removed, leaving mostly red and yellow light.

Bald Eagles have two babies! One baby born November 20. Photo taken one day later. There were TWO!!

Our incredible wildlife photographer just took this photo of a Mom and Dad Bald Eagle with their two Eaglets! Babies look so soft and fuzzy. Bald Eagles mate for life. However, if one dies, the remaining eagle will get a new mate.

Burrowing owls are our ONLY raptor in North America to nest exclusively underground. I've seen them along runways of airports. Might get hit by a plane, but animals and humans are kept away. Owls eat at night, but not the burrowing owl. It eats in the day. And, they don't DIG their homes but use holes dug by others.
