The boa constrictor is a popular "pet" today. In fact, more boa babies are born to "pet" boas than to "wild" boas. The largest boa can weigh 60 lbs! A "wild" boa will be killed for food. It's skin will also be sold to use as "fabric". In captivity some communities use boas to control possom or rodent populations.
