Two magnets are on the back of this paper clip. It is made of metal, nickel plated and is non-tarnish. The paper clip opens up to .75" wide and then closes tightly in order to grip or hold closed whatever you need. The magnets allow you to attach the paper clip and whatever it is holding onto a metal surface.
