A plaque is the perfect way to customize many items. This informational page will help you make your decisions when ordering a plaque.

Length of Plaque - There are two things that determine how  long your plaque should be. #1 length of base  #2 amount of text.

#1 base. If a base is 5 inches long, you need to allow 1/2 inch of space on each end of the plaque. Thus, for a 5 inch base the MAXIMUM length of a plaque is 4 inches. You don't want the plaque to go to the end. Sometimes the edge of the base has a beveled or  round edge. You need to subtract that space too.  If the base is 12 inches long and it has rounded ends. Deduct  perhaps 1 inch for rounded end and another 1/2 inch. That’s 1-1/2 inches. You have two ends…so total to deduct would be 3 inches. To get length of plaque 12 minus 3, would give you a 9 inch plaque MAXIMUM length. Now you know how long the plaque COULD be. What length should you order?  Please keep reading.

#2 text. If you want one word of text, let's say AWESOME - the length of the plaque would be different than if the plaque had 25 words. Let's say you are putting AWESOME on a bull sculpture that could have a plaque 16 inches long. The customization would be lost on such a long plaque. We would recommend the shortest plaque (0-4 inches). 

You have FOUR choices of plaque length. Please select the length that works best for you based on the length of base and the text.

Height of Plaque - There are two things that determine how  high the plaque should be. #1 height of base #2 amount of text.

#1 base. The plaque needs to be 1/8 inch less on the top and on the bottom than the base. Thus, if the base is one inch high, you would subtract (1/8 + 1/8 = 1/4 inch). That means that if the base is one inch high, the plaque can be 3/4 inch high. The 1/4 inch is a constant no matter the height. By doing this calculation, you will determine the MAXIMUM height of the plaque.

#2 text. If you calculated the MAXIMUM height of the plaque as 1/2 or less, then you can have ONE line of text. If the calculated height is 5/8 inch, you can have TWO lines of text. If the calculated height is 3/4-1 inch, you can have THREE lines of text. FOUR lines of text requires a special order. Of course, if you have all of these lines of text the font won't be as large as if there are fewer lines of text.

Color of Plate - You have a choice of colors of plate.

We recommend that you select the color of plate that blends with the color of the base. Thus, a black base would have a black plate. The reason  for that  recommendation is that we believe it is better to have the text "pop" versus having the entire plaque "pop". If you do not select a plaque color, the default choice is the color that we believe blends with the base best. 

Sometimes if the sculpture is silver customers like a silver plate. The sculpture may be copper and  you want a copper plate. It's your choice as to what works best  for you. You might be matching other items. Your choice is absolute.

Font for Plaque  - You have a choice of TEN different  font.

If there is quite a bit of text, we recommend  Arial or Times Roman font because it is crisper and easier to read.  You have ten choices of font. Check them out. Our default font is Arial. If you want  the text to be the boldest possible, select Copperplate. It works well with a name or limited text. You can use a font that is script but with limited text. You have a calligraphy choice. You have a whimsical choice. Ant the most unique font is Old English. 

When you enter text request AND font, our site will show you what it'll look like. You can test all ten font if you want! Please select the font you prefer. We do have thousands of fonts, way too many to list here, so if you have a font that is your company's font - ask us in the Talk to Us box to use that font. We will do so if possible. For each plaque only ONE font is possible.

Text for Plaque - If the text is simple, request on line.

If the text is more than one line - or somewhat complicated, you can say "Emailing  plaque request" in the TEXT box. Then enter the text in Word exactly as you want it. Centered? Left justified? Line by line. Email your instructions to service@wallstreetgifts.com. In the subject line of your email type : Text for Plaque - order # XXXXXXX. Once you place your order, you will receive an email with your order #. Use this order # in your subject line for the email. You need to use the same font for each plaque - but the font can very....keep reading.

If you have three lines of text, you COULD have the person’s name on first line and request it to be BOLD. The second line COULD be the name of the company and you could request that “regular”. Perhaps, the third line is the name of the contest or dates or title, whatever, you could request that be done in ITALIC. Same font – but by using BOLD, STANDARD and  ITALIC you can make each line stand out. Just a suggestion. Whatever you want works for us….and using a Word document to email us makes it  easier for us to fulfill your request.

Also – you can use basic colors for the text – outside colors mentioned here. Possible colors are blue, red, green, etc. In fact we can use a Pantone color. But, only one color per plaque. This is a little more difficult….you can select a BLACK plaque with gold  font – and then have the name of the company to be done in GREEN. Logo on Plaque

Yes, we can do a logo if there is enough room to do so on the plaque. Logo needs to be emailed to us as eps file.  Logo adds additional $25 to cost of plaque. Including colors in logo are included in cost.

Tips for Plaque

#1 - Blend the color of the plaque with the color of the base OR with color of statue.

#2 - Text for a plaque with 3 lines of text  can use same font but BOLD, STANDARD, ITALIC.

We used the same font in this example. We used BOLD for the name. We left the center line "STANDARD". We used  ITALIC  for the bottom line. Same font. You can see we centered the text. You can use this concept and change plaque based  on what  you want  to emphasize.

Adhering a Plaque

The plaque you order will be adhered to the product before shipping. Plaques normally delay shipping by a couple of days.

Price for Plaque

We do not charge you for the number of characters or the number of words. We have tried to simplify the plaque  for you. You have FOUR length sizes of plaques. You are charged for the size of length you select. You need to use common sense. Yes, AWESOME could be put on a plaque 0-4 inches. But, text with 50 words could never be put on a plaque that size. That's why using Word to do your text can help you decide length of plaque.
